If New Year’s Eve the wind blows south
It betokens warmth and growth.
If west, much milk and fish in the sea.
If north, cold and storms there will be.
If east, the trees will bear much fruit.
If north east, then flee it, man and brute.



  • 1/3 cup well-stirred tahini (Middle Eastern sesame paste)
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar (optional)


Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Countertop wipes

12 oz water, 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol, 4 squirts dish soap
1 quality paper towel roll (cut in 2)

Place paper towel roll in plastic container
Pour liquid mixture in waves.
Remove center cardboard when its wet.
